The Emptiness Between Us

It was a big milestone for me to show my work in my home country, Sweden. I was very happy to have been invited by Vasby Konsthall to be a part of their 2018 program to show in their historic premises. I shipped 24 paintings to them, all of which were hung by their curatorial team.

It was fantastic to see my work in a different context and the Swedish audience’s response to it. Many visitors were touched - some even shed a few tears.

Multiculturalism is an important subject today.If my work can inspire the viewer to think about their cultural heritage and that of others, and thereby perhaps increase an understanding for each other, then I feel that I have succeeded.

I had also invited The Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to Sweden, H.E. Mr. Lee Jeong-kyu, who together with his wife, honoured us with his presence at the exhibition on Sunday 26 August.

I am now busy preparing for my next one-person show in the Spring of 2019 in Shoreditch, London. I will also feature in a children’s book with short stories which will be published next year.
